Tic-Tac-Foe — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 September 2026
Tic-Tac-Foe (the “App”, package com.rogue01x01.tictacfoe) is
published by Rogue01x01 (“we”, “us”). This policy
explains what information the App handles, why, and the choices you have.
It is written to be short because the App is designed to collect as
little as possible.
The short version
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or files.
- Our game server does not log IP addresses.
- You sign in with Google Play Games. We store an opaque, app-scoped player identifier and your Play Games gamer tag — not your Google account, name, or email.
- The App shows ads through Google AdMob. Buying “Remove Ads” turns all ads off permanently for your account.
- You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see Contact).
What we store, and why
-
Play Games identity. When you sign in, we store the
Google Play Games player ID (an opaque value scoped to this
App — it cannot be resolved to your real Google identity) and your
Play Games gamer tag. Used to sign you in, attribute your
stats, and show you on the leaderboard.
-
Gameplay data. Match results, your Elo rating, wins,
games played, a “Luck” statistic, unlocked achievements, your chosen
favourite emoji, and whether you have seen the tutorial. Used to run
the game, the leaderboard, and achievements.
-
Purchases. Which in-app items you own, plus the
Google Play order ID and purchase token, which our server checks with
Google to confirm a purchase is genuine and to restore your items
after a reinstall. We never see or store payment card
details — Google Play processes all payments.
-
Friends (optional). If you grant the Play Games
friends permission, the App reads your Play Games friends list so it
can float your friends’ open games to the top of the room browser and
offer a “Friends” leaderboard filter. Your friends’ opaque player IDs
are sent to our server only to match them against other players.
Declining changes nothing else about the App.
-
Bug reports (optional, only if you choose). If you
use the in-app “Report a Bug” button, we receive the text you write,
your gamer tag, and the App version. If you additionally tick the
“include basic device data” box, we also receive a rough description
of your device — browser/OS string, device memory, CPU core count,
screen size, connection type, and time zone. This contains no
identifiers, no location, and no contacts. Bug-report data is
used only to fix problems and is deleted at the end of the test
period.
Data stored only on your device
Your session token, sound/music preferences, an optional server-address
override, and a cached copy of your friends list are stored locally on
your device (browser local storage) and are not sent to us except as
described above.
Advertising
The App displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob
(Google Mobile Ads SDK). To serve and measure ads, Google may collect
and process device information, a resettable advertising identifier,
app-activity signals, and approximate location derived from your IP
address. This data is shared with Google for advertising, analytics, and
fraud prevention, as described in
Google’s policy.
-
Where local law requires it (for example the EEA, the UK, and
Switzerland), you are asked on first launch whether you consent to
personalised ads. You may choose non-personalised ads instead.
- You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in your device settings.
- Purchasing Remove Ads disables all advertising, and the ad SDK stops requesting ads, for your account.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with anyone except the following service providers, each acting under Google’s Privacy Policy:
- Google Play Games Services — sign-in, achievements, and the friends list.
- Google Play Billing and the Google Play Developer API — processing and verifying purchases.
- Google AdMob — advertising (see above).
- Google Fonts — a display font is fetched from Google’s servers when the App’s interface first loads; Google receives that request.
Retention and deletion
Account and gameplay data is kept for as long as your account exists.
Bug-report data is deleted at the end of the test period. You can ask us
to delete your account and associated stats at any time by emailing the
address below; we will remove your account record, stats, achievements,
and entitlement records from our server.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA),
and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child
has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the limited data we hold. Because
no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we cannot
guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct,
or delete your data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to opt
out of personalised advertising. To exercise any of these, contact us.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for
material changes, note it in the App’s release notes.
